Common Questions:

Q: Is it alright if I have a family member that likes to take lots of pictures?

A: Sure. I'm fine with your family taking photos, as long as they are respectful, like this nice gram here. I do however appreciate a heads up if there is someone you know will be a little camera happy.

We were both working very hard on this day!

Q: Do you offer any pricing consideration for off-season or smaller weddings?

A: I do offer special pricing consideration during the quiet season and for intimate weddings (smaller than 50 people). Typical savings is around 1000. Please contact me if your wedding falls into this category.

Q: Do you carry backup equipment?

A: Yes. I work with high end digital equipment and always arrive at a wedding with backup gear. I realize the importance of not missing a moment, so always have duplicates of everything ready to go. I also take the utmost care of archiving your images after the wedding by backing them up on-site and at a remote location.

Q: Do you carry one or two cameras?

A: I photograph every wedding with digital professional cameras and lenses. I typically am shooting with two cameras at a time and carry all of my equipment on my person, for instant access.

Q: Do you work with an assistant?

A: I do work with an assistant if requested, however it is not a requirement. We will take into consideration the size of your wedding, the schedule of your day, and your picture needs when deciding if an assistant is necessary. A lot of the time couples find that they can just have me arrive a bit early or stay a bit late and still receive the same great photos without the added expense.

Q: Where will you travel?

A: I accept a handful of weddings a year that are either on the islands or abroad, so if interested please contact right away. They are a large commitment, which is why I only commission a few each year leaving enough time to balance all of my clients equally. For your reference, I consider anything within New England local.

Q: Is there a travel fee?

A: There is no charge for weddings local to Nashua, NH 03063. However, outside of that area or weddings that run late into the evening, travel expenses may be necessary. It is always a fair cost to just cover expenses.

Q: Will you provide us with a reference to past clients?

A: Sure. Here's an e-mail a past client sent to a bride interested in a hiring me ~ read e-mail. If you'd like to speak to a client directly, I would be happy to arrange something.

Q: What if we'd like to wait to order our album after the wedding?

You are more than welcome to order any of the products afterwards. I realize that expenses add up and many clients will wait until after the wedding for certain items, especially if you've set up a gift registry with us (gift registry details).

Q: How do we know if you are the right photographer for us?

Choosing the right photographer is probably the most difficult and important choice when it comes to your wedding selections. Packages can be daunting to compare and style depends on your particular preference. Web-sites offer advice (about contract glitches, hours included, years experience, backup equipment), which are all great questions to determine if you are working with a professional. Once those basic criteria are met, I feel there are some other questions that are just as important. Do you enjoy the natural look of documentary photography? Do you like photographs with different perspectives? What about a variety of close up, medium range, and wide-angle images? Do you envision looking back at your pictures and remembering the emotion and feelings of the day? Would you like to work with a photographer that focused on wedding photography full time? Is quick turn-around of the images and albums important to you? Do you want someone that is dedicated to top quality and is continually searching for new and unique products to display your images? Do you want a package that you can customize with exactly what you’d like? Do you want to hire someone that will make you feel comfortable throughout the day and continue that excellent service after the wedding? If you find yourself answering yes, then I think you may be a good fit for the services and products we offer.

Q: What if we book with you and then change our date?

A: If the new date is currently open you can re-book for the new date.

Q: Do you have a maximum number of weddings you shoot per year?

A: Yes. Focusing on weddings exclusively and accepting a limited number of weddings per year allows me to provide individualized service and prompt delivery of elegant products. I know my limits and maintain those to keep turn-around efficient and clients raving.

Q: Can you help us approximate how many hours of coverage we need?

A: Sure, these two facts should help. First, the getting ready photos take no more than 1hr. Second, you'll only want a professional photographer the first 3-4 hrs of the reception.... then everyone tends to get a little "untucked." So, here's a formula.

Q: Will four hours be enough coverage for our reception?

A: Of course each scenario is going to be different and I am happy to stay till the end if you'd prefer. However, I find the majority of the important activities happen at the beginning of the reception and then the guests tend to get a little "un-tucked" for the last few hours, so don't want to add additional expense to your package when your friend's snapshots are able to capture those moments.

Q: Will you shoot multiple weddings in one day?

A: Never. Only one wedding per day, regardless of the time-frame. I work extremely hard during your wedding day and am constantly scouting new picture opportunities and feel it would be unfair to give you anything less than 100%. I also get to know my client’s and their families and one wedding per day allows me to stay focused on you.

Q: Will you try to finish the formals in time to enjoy the cocktail hour?

A: Yes. I am extremely efficient with the formal portraits and make every attempt to get you to the reception in time to enjoy some of the cocktail hour. Group photos will typically average 5 minutes per group, so for scheduling purposes keep that number in mind. Having been a groom once, I still remember having to hold a smile for all of my aunts and uncles while they took their pictures, so I try to keep "posing" to a minimum. I am always sensitive and respectful of my client’s time, because during the wedding day this can be a very precious commodity.

Q: How many pictures will you take?

A: Typically I shoot about 50-100 pictures per hour and never stand still. The activity of the day plays a big role in the number of photos, weddings will typically average around 600 images.

Q: How soon will we see our wedding pictures?

A: Two weeks. My goal is to have a proofing CD to you in no later than two weeks after your wedding. I pride myself on being efficient, organized, and having a quick turn-around with your images. I am also excited for you to see them, which makes me want to get them right out! All images will also be posted to a password protected ordering site that you are welcome to share with friends and family.

Q: Will you print in black & white as well?

A: Yes. Along with color, I will also tone B&W and sepia. In most weddings I tone about 1/3 of the photos, however if you would like to adjust this amount just let me know and I will accommodate your request.

Q: How soon will we receive our Bound Highlight Book with the printed images?

A: Three to Four Weeks. If I select the images it is quicker than if you select. If you choose to select, once you receive your proofing CD, just send me a list with your selection. I will print and ship the bound book right to your home. For a sample click here.

Q: How long will it take to receive our Hand-Crafted Album?

A: Your Hand-Crafted album will take about eight weeks to design, bind, and deliver to you. Therefore, if there is an open design slot, you could have your album within ten weeks. I find that most couples prefer to take there time deciding on their favorite images, then meet to discuss their vision, then I will begin the design and binding process. Whether you decide to select your images right away or take a few months, I always give you a delivery date that provides you with a clear expectation of when you'll have the album in your hands. Q: How long will we be your clients?

A: Once you select our studio, you become a client for life. I enjoy being part of your wedding day and love hearing where life takes you in the future. Whether it is put together a formal album for you or a parent, frames for the walls of your new home, or to share a picture of your new baby I am always psyched to hear from you again.
