A: Getting to know my clients helps me, as an artist, to focus on what each couple values and what makes them most comfortable in front of the camera. My hope is to create an environment where they will forget they are even being photographed. I believe that developing this personal relationship is key to having natural images that capture the emotion, anticipation, and mood of your wedding day.
About me personally
I am thirty years old, starting Munroe Wedding Photography eight years ago and still loving every minute of it. It is not easy to describe who you are with words, but the first that come to mind are that I am someone that is dedicated to my family and the community that surrounds me. I’m always up for a good laugh and I carry that easy going attitude everywhere I go. Photography is my passion, where I am continually challenging myself to capture the details that surround us. My biggest draw in photography is to weddings and most of that draw is derived from the reaction I receive from my couples. I decided to enter the wedding photography industry in the late 90’s after realizing that I had the ability to capture images that will not only impact my clients today but will also impact their families for generations to come. Being recently married myself I still remember having to hold a smile for all of my aunts and uncles while they took their pictures, so I try to keep "posing" to a minimum. I am always sensitive and respectful of my client’s time, because during the wedding day this can be a very precious commodity.
Q: How do we know if you are the right photographer for us?
Choosing the right photographer is probably the most difficult and important choice when it comes to your wedding selections. Packages can be daunting to compare and style depends on your particular preference. Web-sites offer advice (about contract glitches, hours included, years experience, backup equipment), which are all great questions to determine if you are working with a professional. Once those basic criteria are met, I feel there are some other questions that are just as important. Do you enjoy the natural look of documentary photography? Do you like photographs with different perspectives? What about a variety of close up, medium range, and wide-angle images? Do you envision looking back at your pictures and remembering the emotion and feelings of the day? Would you like to work with a photographer that focused on wedding photography full time? Is quick turn-around of the images and albums important to you? Do you want someone that is dedicated to top quality and is continually searching for new and unique products to display your images? Do you want a package that you can customize with exactly what you’d like? Do you want to hire someone that will make you feel comfortable throughout the day and continue that excellent service after the wedding? If you find yourself answering yes, then I think you may be a good fit for the services and products we offer.
Q: What should we expect when we choose you as our photographer?
A: Expect me to surpass your expectations. I know, now that I said that I'll have to surpass them even further, but I'm okay with that if you are. Q: What is your typical clientele?
A: The couples that select me to photograph their wedding typically view photography as one of the most important wedding decisions. They are interested in having their photographer treat them like a friend, listening to what's important to them, their photographic tastes, and how they want their wedding day story to be told through imagery. As for style, they exhibit a need for image capture that goes beyond the classic and extends to fresh perspectives and alternate angles (natural moments and fresh portraits). Overall, they understand that working with me means no detail is too small and perfection is the norm.
Q: What has influenced you or help sculpt your individual shooting style?
A: I am constantly being influenced by the fashion, cinema, and design world. Working with my existing network of photographers also allows me to come up with new ideas that stretch the boundaries and develop a style that I feel is uniquely the best.... romantic, elegant, and personal to my clients.
